Dear FPCA family,

Many of us know the story of Jesus’ last supper with his disciples. It’s the meal we reference most directly when we celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper as we will this coming Sunday. But the Gospel according to John actually records the last breakfast Jesus had with his disciples as well.  In fact, this writer didn’t spend much time talking about the breaking of the bread and the sharing of the wine, in comparison to the others, but they took the time to tell us exactly how many fish were caught in the nets that morning. Like an earlier story in the gospel, where Jesus turned water into wine, the fish were in great abundance after the disciples followed Jesus’ direction. What do they talk about around this morning campfire after the resurrection? What does Jesus spend time trying to say to them in the last breakfast they share together? What does he say to us as his followers after we have just been so beautifully reminded of his resurrection with our Easter Sunday worship? Let’s listen to and ponder God’s Word together this Sunday!

Peace,
