Dear FPCA Friends:
This Sunday, May 11, our children will once again lead us in a Noisy Houses offering during our worship services as part of our FaithFULL Housing mission initiative. Don’t forget to bring your loose coins or other financial gifts as we raise support for housing-related needs both locally and globally. As a reminder, FaithFULL Housing is our church’s yearlong, intergenerational mission initiative that began last fall. It calls attention to the affordable housing crisis and encourages us to respond with compassion and justice through advocacy, service, education, and giving. From noisy coins in worship to hands-on projects in our community, we been learning how to be a church that makes room for all in God’s home.
This Sunday is also Mother’s Day. For some, it’s a day of celebration and gratitude. For others, it can bring grief, pain, or complicated emotions. Some may feel all of these at once. As a community of faith, we hold space for the full range of feelings this day brings, and we’ll reflect that in our prayers on Sunday. The rest of worship will center on God’s presence and the family of faith we share together.
