Dear FPCA Friends:
God’s work in this world continues… and so do we!
Every week as we gather in worship, we open ourselves to being transformed by God’s word, by one another, and by the call to love more deeply. This Sunday we’ll be listening for that call through the bold words of the prophet Amos. Sometimes scripture comforts; sometimes it unsettles us. This week Amos will challenge us to consider what it means for our church to truly “exist for others”. Not just in name but in how we show up for those in need and how we let our faith in God shape how we live our everyday lives. I hope you’ll join us as we reflect on where God is calling us next, both as individuals and as a community.
I also want to lift up a special moment in our congregation! On Sunday, July 27, 17 high school youth and 3 adult leaders will travel to Louisville, Kentucky for Presbyterian Youth Triennium. Presbyterian Youth Triennium (PYT) is a unique event hosted by our denomination offering high schoolers a chance to grow in faith, compassion, and leadership. It is often a life-changing experience that shapes the next steps in faith for so many. For four days, our youth will join thousands of other young people from across the country for worship, friendship, study, service, and fun surrounded by the theme, “As If We Were Dreaming.” As a church family, I invite you to hold our youth and leaders in prayer throughout that week. Pray for safe travels, deep connections, and for God’s Spirit to move among them as they learn, serve, and dream together. What a gift this week will be!
God’s Peace,
