January 29, 2026

Dear FPCA family,

I’m afraid to type it “out loud” with the slight chance of S-N-O-W in the weekend forecast, but I feel pretty certain that we will be in worship together in person this coming Sunday.  Of course, as always, everyone is encouraged to make the decision they need to make for their own health and safety. If the temperatures are too low for you to venture out or snow and ice make travel unwise, please join us on-line. An important note: The 8:45 am service will take place in the sanctuary, as the Fellowship Hall heat is currently not working.

The Session of the church is gathering for a planning and centering retreat on Saturday. Would you hold us in your prayers as we consider what it means to be spiritual leaders, talk about how we organize ourselves for the church’s ministry and mission, and plan for the coming year? In order to allow Pastor Taylor and me to focus on the conversations at the retreat this weekend, I’ve invited the Rev. Dr. Susan Gilbert Zencka to preach in our English worship services on Sunday morning.  Some of you know Rev. Gilbert Zencka from the choir or from her work with the congregation as the Commission on Ministry liaison. She has been around FPCA a bit over the last few years, and I am looking forward to hearing the Word she brings us this weekend. Pastor Taylor and I will both be in worship, too, leading other aspects of the service.

If there is any question about the weather, please remember to check WFMZ.  We would close if snow forecasts look like they warrant it, but will hold worship in person (in warm spaces!) in low temperatures. Please use your own judgement if outdoor temperatures make travel to the church difficult for you. Have a safe and warm weekend!

Peace,

Pastor Stephanie Anthony
Lead Pastor
