Dear FPCA Friends:
Thank you to everyone who participated in last Sunday’s Town Hall conversation following worship. To continue that conversation, the Session will host listening sessions during the Faith Formation hour this Sunday, March 8 and Sunday, March 15 from 9:50-10:50 a.m. in both the Choir Room and Fellowship Hall. These sessions are an opportunity for church members to share their hopes, concerns, questions, and ideas directly with elders. Your voice matters, and these sessions are intended to help us listen to one another as we seek God’s direction together.
During that same hour, faith formation for children and youth will continue as usual. In response to members who requested to attend the listening sessions; Conversations, Better Together, and the Parents Small Group will be cancelled this Sunday and next Sunday. Marijo Taylor’s class, “What Is a Prophecy?” will take place in Room 115 for the next four weeks, and is open to all who are interested.
Whatever season we may find ourselves individually or as a congregation, it remains a gift to gather in worship. This Sunday we will hear the story of Jesus feeding the 5000 in Mark 6. Jesus tells the disciples something that must have sounded impossible: “You give them something to eat.” Faced with overwhelming need and very limited resources, the disciples could only see what they lacked. Yet when the community gathered and shared what little they had, everyone was fed. Together we will reflect on this good news: when we work and serve together, the impossible can begin to look possible. It’s rather fitting for the season of life we are in as we discern our future together.
I look forward to seeing you in worship and continuing these important conversations together.
God’s Peace,

Pastor for Faith Formation
