Dear FPCA family,
We have been blessed this Easter season to have a variety of different preachers bringing us the Word in worship, and that continues this week as we welcome the Rev. Shelvis Smith-Mather. Our church has supported the Revs. Shelvis and Nancy Smith-Mather and their missionary work as peacemakers in South Sudan for sixteen years. I am excited to meet and hear from Rev. Shelvis, and I know we will all be blessed by his preaching and teaching. Read a full bio here.
Also happening Sunday at 3:00 pm is the third of four opportunities to gather with an interfaith group from across the Lehigh Valley to talk about the meaning and blessings of our country’s founding with insights from our different traditions. I have been working with a group of interfaith colleagues to plan these Faith 250 gatherings for several months, and the experience has been wonderful as community members have learned about our sacred bonds and shared hopes. This week’s gathering is at The Barn, 2132 S. 12th Street Suite 203 in Allentown, and next month, June 14, we are the hosts here are FPCA. Registration is required at this link in order to provide a secure venue for all of our participants. I will need some volunteers to help with hospitality and refreshments when we host the gathering in June.
Blessings on your spring weekend!
Peace,

Lead Pastor
