To lead by example isn’t easy. It takes more than words; it also requires action. There are two fathers on the Honduras Medical Mission team who have inspired their adult children to join the team.
One of those fathers, Marcelo Gareca, gave this explanation of why he joined the mission, “I think the main reason for me is to give back and help to those in need.”
While his daughter, Maggie, relayed her reason for joining the mission saying, “Across all cultures and faiths, there is a universal understanding of the importance of caring for our bodies and for one another. I’m looking forward to joining this mission as an interpreter and public health educator so I can facilitate conversation between the Manos Amigas clinic and our mission. With the teams working together, we can help the community heal and prevent future spread of disease.”
