Dear FPCA Friends:
This Sunday is special! In the morning we’ll gather for Imago Dei (“image of God”) Sunday in worship, and in the afternoon we’ll join our neighbors at Lehigh Valley Pride. We have two opportunities on the same day to bear witness to a God who names every person beloved.
In worship, we’re collaborating with our Compassion, Peace, and Justice team to center God’s welcome and to proclaim the image of God in every person. We will specifically name and celebrate our LGBTQIA+ siblings, and we will pray for a community where everyone can live safely, openly, and loved. Bring someone with you! If you have LGBTQIA+ loved ones or allies in your life who need a hopeful word from the church, this is a good Sunday to invite them. We’ll pray, sing, and proclaim the good news that all are made in God’s image and all belong in God’s house.
After worship, we’ll continue the celebration at Lehigh Valley Pride, where our church will host a table along with five other Presbyterian congregations in Lehigh Valley. Pride is free, open to the public, and family-friendly. Come say hello, grab lots of free swag, and help us share God’s love with everyone! Please join us anytime at the SteelStacks in Bethlehem between 2:00 and 7:00 p.m.
Friends, this is a full day to witness to the Gospel! We worship our Creator who proclaims the image of God in every person, and our presence in our community puts that proclamation into practice. I’m grateful to be the Church with you!
