Dear FPCA family,
World Communion Sunday is just around the corner, and our plans are coming together to observe it with one unified worship service at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 4. Our congregation is in a special position to delve into this celebration, and our worship will highlight the multicultural nature of our church membership. At several points in our service, we will hear prayers and songs in several languages at once. I encourage our worshipers to sit in a new spot, make a new friend, and listen as the languages of our hearts are offered up to God in praise and worship. There will be times that a worship leader may be speaking a language you don’t know. This is a wonderful time to meditate on the magnitude of God’s love that knows each one of us in the language that speaks to us clearest. We do not have to understand every word to know that God is being honored and glorified, and de-centering our own experience to center that of another is a way of showing our love and unity. Let’s come together in that love this Sunday to worship God and be fed at a God’s table.
Peace,
Stephanie
Vibrant Faith
Dear FPCA Family:
As part of World Communion Sunday during the Passing of the Peace, we will practice building community by greeting one another by name. If you do not know someone’s name, introduce yourself and learn theirs. Name tags will help members of our different worshiping communities connect with one another.
As Christ gathers us around one table, learning and speaking one another’s names helps us recognize that we all belong to one body.
God’s Peace,
Our Vibrant Faith Team
