Dear FPCA Friends:
This Sunday, June 7, we have so many good reasons to gather with gratitude and joy.
Our youth will be leading worship in both our 8:45 and 11:00 a.m. English-language services. As part of these services, four of our youth (two in each service) will be preaching the Word of God: Lexie Simmons, Aneri McGalla, Caroline Grum, and Kate Gilchrist. These four have just completed their second one-year term serving either on Session or the Board of Deacons, and now they will help lead us in worship through the gifts and faith God has given them. Join us in either service. Or come to both, so you can hear all four of them preach! Their sermons will also be available after Sunday if you want to listen later.
We will also take time during worship to recognize and bless our graduates. We give thanks for the ways God has been at work in their lives. We celebrate all they have accomplished, and we will pray for the next steps in their journeys.
This Sunday will also be Errika Gonzalez’s last Sunday with us as our Director of Children and Families. Errika has served faithfully on our staff for the last three years. She has brought so much love and care in our ministry with children, youth, and families. While her time on staff is coming to an end, her relationship with our community of faith is far from over. That’s the kind of community we are. Whether we are staff, members, children, youth, families, longtime friends, or brand-new faces; we find a home in one another through the love of Christ.
So come this Sunday ready to worship, listen, bless, give thanks, and celebrate! Come support our youth preachers. Come pray for our graduates. Come offer gratitude for Errika’s ministry among us.
Come be reminded of the beautiful, faithful, multigenerational community God is continuing to shape here at First Presbyterian Church of Allentown.
