Dear FPCA Friends:
This Sunday, May 10, we continue through the season of Easter with Jesus’ promise in John 14. As Jesus prepares his disciples for life after his death and resurrection, he promises them the gift of the Advocate, the Spirit of truth, who will remain with them and help them live in love. God’s Spirit abides with us, and through that Spirit, we are called to become people who respond to a hurting world with grace and love.
We will also receive a noisy bucket offering to support our partners at Villages in Partnership. All are invited to bring coins or other financial offerings to services as we fill our buckets together in support of this ministry in Malawi.
Last, Mother’s Day can hold the whole spectrum of emotions. For some: it is a day of joy, gratitude, and celebration. For others: it is tender, complicated, or painful. For many: it is all of these at once. Whatever you bring to this day; whether you are celebrating, grieving, remembering, hoping, or holding several emotions together; you are welcome here. May you be surrounded by love, and may you know the care of our Mother God, who watches over us all with tenderness and grace.
God’s Peace,

Pastor for Faith Formation
